November 2017 Update

Well, we’re past the witching hour now, and on the countdown to Christmas . . .

October saw a whole lot more new painting and refurbishing under way here at the Centre in preparation for the welcome return of the Cider Festival last weekend; the first, we hope, of many resumed annual appearances…

And the month also saw the welcome return of NHS Eye Screening clinics, helpful both to local residents in terms of the specific services provided, and to the Centre in terms of helping it regain its rightful place as the town’s principal location for significant public services.

Several new classes have also got under way during October, including Tap-ercise on Wednesday afternoons (brilliant fun for all ages!), plus Dance Fit, and people’s ingenuity for starting more and more new classes continues to amaze and delight us! November will see the first Waltz Class – 10.00am till 1.00pm Saturday 25th, followed later that same afternoon (2.00pm to 5.00pm) by the first Cha Cha Cha Class! Get those dancing shoes out!

The Young Farmer’s have also been using the Centre’s facilities for exercise classes – big thanks to them, and they’re all very welcome too.

Conversely, our first Children’s Play Day was not as busy as it could have been, and it was sad not to see the various toys being made best use of in the main hall. “Come on Lostwithiel! Free play opportunity?!!

We may decide to give it another try, and if we do, it would be good to see it better used, particularly since there’s our great tea room for parents to relax in while the children play….

Meanwhile, tickets for the Johnny Cowling concert on Friday 8th December in aid of Cancer Research are now going like the proverbial ‘hot cakes’, so make sure you pop in, or ring the Centre on 01208-872207, to be sure of yours!

Thank you for your ever-increasing use of your Centre – the better it gets used, the better it’ll get.

Till next month’s update, all best from your LCA Team at the Centre
