As many of you will now be aware,the Lostwithiel Community Association which manages the Community Centre on behalf of the town,has issued a warning that without increased support the centre may have to close .The cost of repairing and maintaining the current building, as well as the recent steep rise in energy costs,have made the job of our charity extremely challenging.We have met with the Town Council to make them aware of the situation and they have agreed to provide some short term financial assistance which will delay the need for an immediate decision. While the conditional support of the Town Council is most welcome it does not , unfortunately, provide the centre with longer term security it now requires .The charity's trustees will begin holding public consultations to provide details regarding the current situation and to explore possible ways forward in order to secure the centre for future generations.
